With The Frontier, we’re bringing together a collection of exclusive independent brands that are committed to pushing the boundaries of the craft. Brands such as Linde Werdelin, the Swiss-Danish luxury sport brand that already occupies a category of its own with its instantly recognizable designs. Born out of the need to explore, Linde Werdelin’s are no ordinary sporty timepieces. Proprietary materials, complex construction, and custom movements come together in timepieces that are not only visually arresting but excellent instruments to help navigate any environment.
We’ve created The Frontier as a dedicated space that brings together rare, design-led, and founder-driven watchmakers in an intimate discovery environment inside Time+Tide. The Frontier is not just a room housing high-end watches, but a place for ideas, authorship, materials, advanced technology, and, most importantly, conversations. It exists to make the independent watchmaking space easier to discover, understand, and experience in person.

Blueprints for the future
Another Frontier watchmaker operating at the cutting edge of design is Toledano & Chan. With a fascination for material, shape, and sculpture, this brand is drawing on brutalist architecture for inspiration, creating its own very specific and stunning design language. Its timepieces are minimalist yet made highly expressive through their unique geometry and distinctive material choices. Toledano & Chan sets itself apart through its willingness to embrace a forward-thinking attitude in its watchmaking that’s futuristic but also remarkably uncomplicated.
Rewriting the rules
The Frontier celebrates brands unafraid to venture beyond the production processes associated with traditional watchmaking, such as Atelier Wen. Created by two Frenchmen with a passion for Chinese culture, Atelier Wen has enlisted renowned artisans to craft its watch dials entirely by hand. The use of these traditional processes, which take many hours to complete for each timepiece, reflect the elevated standards that underpin every Atelier Wen creation. Further reinforcing its Chinese roots, select references are labeled “Proudly made in China” and come equipped with locally-made Dandong Peacock automatic movements.
