Atelier Wen’s Perception collection has garnered acclaim as the brand’s signature series, celebrated for its artistic dials and timeless designs. Originally launched in 2022, the collection has continued to evolve, with the V3 launching as its latest chapter. The new lineup marks the return of the brand’s signature écailles de poisson(fish-scale) guilloché dial featuring curve lines crossing and radiating outward from the center, catching the light beautifully at every angle. The dial draws on the concept of sǔn mǎo), an ancient Chinese principle of construction that relies on friction alone, without nails or glue. Crafted entirely by hand, each dial takes up to 8 hours to complete, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail behind every Perception watch. The V3 collection welcomes a new Bamboo Green color, a shade long associated with resilience in Chinese culture.

While initially Atelier Wen opted to outfit their Perception watches with China-made automatic movements, for the V3, the brand has chosen a different path. The new models come equipped with Pequignet’s EPM03 movement customized with decorative finishing that incorporates Chinese cultural motifs into the movement itself. An independent movement manufacturer from France, Pequignet designs, develops and assembles its own calibers in-house. Their EMP03 achieves chronometer-grade accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day, with an average within -/+2 seconds per day and offers a 65-hours power reserve. New to the Perception collection are hacking seconds and a bi-directional pawl-based winding system with a patented tooth profile that enhances efficiency while minimizing long-term wear. The movement is visible through a new exhibition caseback that replaces the quarter-view of the previous models.
