Collection: Furlan Marri Mechaquartz

A fusion of elements

Furlan Marri is a brand that's all about stories, and the first collection they ever released tells the tale of the coming together of quartz and mechanical movements to create lineup of unqiue timepieces. Originating in Switzerland during the 1980s as a response to the quartz crisis, mechaquartz movements were developed to retain the essence of a vintage chronograph while leveraging quartz technology. Inspired by the work of renowned watch case maker François Borgel celebrated for his contributions to Patek Phillippe, Movado and IWC, the Mechaquartz collection is an authentic nod to Swiss craftmanship.

It's all in the details

Furlan Marri’s commitment to meticulous craftmanship shines through in the Mechaquartz collection, where carefully designed details abound. Engraved pushers, elegantly curved lugs, a decagonal caseback with circular brushing and exquisite finishing on the case collectively contribute to the collection’s allure. The Mechaquartz case boasts well-balanced proportions, measuring 38mm in diameter and a mere 11.2mm in thickness, guaranteeing a stylish look on wrists of various sizes.

Elegance on a budget

While the watches proudly embrace their Swiss heritage in appearance, they are crafted with accessibility in mind. Housed within is a Seiko VK64 mechaquartz movement, manufactured in Japan, that combines reliable quartz timekeeping with the functionality of mechanical chronograph. The timepieces are assembled in Shenzhen, China – the global epicenter of electronics design and manufacturing.

Dials that impress

The focal point of Furlan Marri’s Mechaquartz timepieces is undeniably the dial. It includes an asthmometer/respiration scale encircling the outer edge of the chronograph subdials, designed for measuring respiration rates. Each of the three Mechaquartz dials flaunt striking color combinations, but the Nerro Sabbia version distinguishes itself as the most unique by forgoing the 24-hour chronograph subdial, opting instead for a singular asymmetrical subdial dedicated to displaying seconds.
