Zenith

In 1969, Zenith achieved a horological milestone with the El Primero—the first automatic high-frequency chronograph operating at a 36,000 vibrations per hour and measuring time to one-tenth of a second. This innovation allowed for remarkable precision, setting a new standard for mechanical timekeeping. The El Primero remains an icon, continuously refined and reinterpreted. At Time+Tide, we celebrate its legacy with an exquisite watch selection featuring an open-work evolution of this historic movement.

Zenith

An uncompromising pursuit of precision

Zenith’s story begins in the Swiss town of Le Locle in 1860, where young visionary and horology enthusiast Georges Favre-Jacot came up with a revolutionary idea: uniting all aspects of watchmaking (movements, dials, cases) under one roof. This pioneering approach, known as the Manufacture concept, set new standards for precision and innovation. Jacot’s ultimate ambition was to craft the most accurate timepiece ever made—a legacy that Zenith continues to uphold today.

A prestigious Swiss watchmaker renowned for its technical excellence and craftsmanship, Zenith shot to fame by pioneering some of the most accurate chronographs in history. Whether reinterpreting classic designs or pushing the limits of mechanical innovation, Zenith timepieces are built for those who appreciate the extraordinary.

Zenith HIGHLIGHTS

A collaboration that redefines bold design

Time+Tide has partnered with Zenith to create an exclusive set of timepieces under the Night Surfer brand. These limited editions models offer reinterpretations of the Defy Classic Skeleton and Defy Skyline Skeleton, blending cutting-edge design with Zenith’s signature craftmanship. Both feature a microblasted titanium case and bracelet, paired with a striking blue gradient dial. The Defy Skyline Skeleton sets itself apart with its angular case and distinctive 12-sided bezel, adding a bold architectural element to the design.

The power behind the Night Surfer

Masterpieces inside and out, the Night Surfer models are driven by Zenith’s El Primero movement, delivering cutting-edged performance. The latest Defy Skyline Skeleton stands out with its 6 o’clock counter, completing a full revolution every 10 seconds-a unique function made possible by the 5Hz El Primero 3620 SK calibre, which boasts a 55-hour power reserve and a silicon encampment for enhanced durability. A transparent caseback on both models provides a clear view of the movement.
