Collection: Tissot PR 516 Chronograph

An icon reborn

More than a simple homage, the new PR 516 chronograph collection is the modern evolution of Tissot’s 1970s masterpiece.

The new timepieces don’t just capture the essence of the original, but elevate it with contemporary touches, offering a design that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking. The genesis of the first Tissot PRS 516 traces back to the adrenaline of car racing competitions.

Today, Tissot has geared up for a fresh lap in the watch’s evolution by offering reimagined PR 516 models crafted to accompany you on every step of your life’s journey.

Style meets performance

The Tissot PR 516 chronograph isn’t just though, it’s also polished. Its tapered stainless steel case seamlessly blends strength with elegance, resulting in a watch that looks as good as it performs.

Equipped with both a tachymeter and pulsometer, the PR 516 offers functionality beyond basic timekeeping, catering to individuals who enjoy tracking their performance during workouts and other intensive activities. To ensure readability in all lighting situations, Tissot has coated the bezel, indices and baton hands with Super LumiNova luminous material, delivering a reliable timepiece for any situation.

Armed with a chronograph complication, the watch allows to measure elapsed time in 60-second, 30-minute, and 12-hour increments. Tissot is offering the PR 516 with a choice between mechanical and quartz movement options, both with unique subdial layouts.

Celebrating craftmanship

The PR 516 collection includes a mechanical model with a 41mm diameter case, honouring Tissot’s long watchmaking history and the legacy of the original series.

The Swiss brand has equipped the PR 156 Chronograph Mechanical with the Valjoux A05.291 movement, created by Tissot specifically for this timepiece. Based on the reliable Valjoux 7753 movement, the A05.291 is built to deliver impressive accuracy and long-lasting performance. It also boasts a generous 68 hour power reserve.

The movement features Nivachron balance springs, known for their resistance to magnetic fields. The watch invites you to explore its Swiss made movement through the transparent caseback. The subdials layout in the mechanical model differs from the quartz versions, appearing at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock.

The quartz experience

Completing the collection are three 40mm quartz models, expanding the Tissot PR 516 family to cater to diverse preferences and budgets. Though they share the same stylish look as the mechanical model, the quartz PR516 versions offer a different advantage.

The presence of the Quartz 610.212 Powerdrive movement on board guarantees precision and accuracy in timekeeping. The subdials have been repositioned to 2, 6 and 10 o’clock.

Tissot offers the quartz models with a standard caseback that includes an engraved laurel wreath and a steering wheel reminiscent of sports car, paying homage to the original collection’s racing legacy.
