Having already sat on wrists of astronauts, Fortis wanted to take it one step further, creating not just a space-going watch, but a space-tested one too. After sending a batch of the new in-house WERK 17 column wheel chronograph movements to space, Fortis chose design cues from the testing capsules to create the look of the Stratoliner. With industrial cues, strut-like lugs and 60s pastel colouring, it avoids feeling old fashioned, despite integrating design elements of years gone by. Pair all that with Fortis' exceptional build quality, it's no wonder the movements survived a trip to space and back.
