Hailing from New York, Brew started as a passion project combining its founder's love of coffee and watches. A true believer in the daily ritual of taking coffee breaks, Jonathan Ferrer has incorporated this simple pleasure into the brand’s philosophy, shifting the focus from consuming coffee to savoring every single moment. As a result, the connection to coffee runs through the entire collection, with every Brew watch carrying a little reminder of the ritual that inspired it.
At the heart of Brew’s lineup sits the Metric collection. All the brand’s models channel serious vintage vibes, drawing inspiration from industrial espresso machines as well as other iconic designs and shapes across the world, and the Metric is a perfect example. Featuring a distinctive vintage TV-shaped dial, the Metric also comes equipped with an integrated sports steel bracelet. The collection encompassed several variations, including classical models, as well as chronographs and a unique digital/analog mix.
With the Metric Lite, the brand has introduced a range of compact sport watches housed in a petite 30mm case. Available in stainless steel or gold PVD, the Metric Lite boasts a glossy black dial or a more distinctive Tahitian pearl one, each with a subtle coffee bean motif stamped on the dial (that also appears on the bracelet clasp, backcase and crown). The watches are powered by an automatic Miyota 6T27 movement with a 40h power reserve, which is partially revealed through the sapphire exhibition caseback.
Brew Metric HIGHLIGHTS
A Shot of 70’s Style
The chronograph models are the true highlight of the Metric collection. Featuring a comfortable 36mm case that blends industrial styling with retro ‘70s touches, the Metric brings forth an asymmetric bug-eyed dial splashed with contrasting colours. Framing the dial is a rehaut which, on the Retro model, includes a portion between 25 and 35 seconds in a different colour, which indicates the ideal time to brew an espresso. Bringing life to the Metric collection are Seiko’s meca-quartz chronograph movements, which feature a chronograph hand that sweeps across the dial.
Digital but Still Brew
Brew is taking things a step further with the Metric Digital Blend, the world’s first analog-digital espresso timer watch. Housed in the familiar Metric case, the watch features a dial split into two parts. On the upper side, there’s a minimalistic analog dial with square markers and matching rectangular hour and minute hands, while the bottom houses an LED display with a 30-second countdown timer for pulling espresso shots. The signature coffee bean indentations return on this model, further reinforcing its coffee-inspired identity.
