Description

The classic Fears watch.

Hand built in Britain in small batches.

Graceful and complex, the curvaceous Brunswick is an exacting object to create. It takes its inspiration from a gentleman’s cushion case watch in the Fears archives, first made in 1924.

CASE

The Brunswick’s elegant 38mm cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces, with even the solid caseback having a gentle sweep. The case’s glancing curves are machined from 316L stainless steel in Hong Kong, to a level usually reserved for precious metals. The depth of the polish belies the sophistication of the machinery and the skill of the operator.

The Brunswick is manually wound each day using our bespoke ‘onion’-shaped winding crown, signed with the Fears Cypher. The crown’s fine grooves catch the light, adding a touch of radiance to the edge of the case.

DIAL

The Brunswick White features a hand-polished white lacquer dial, expertly made in Germany by one of the world’s finest dial makers. After the layers of white lacquer are applied, multiple layers of crisp black ink bring the dial to life using a numeral set first used by Fears in 1946.

Down at 6 o’clock is the subsidiary seconds dial, and below it is proudly printed ‘England’ to recognise the fact that every Fears watch is hand built in England.

HANDS

The Brunswick features iconic ‘Fears’-shaped hands expertly made in Germany. Skeletonised and finished in blue using physical vapor deposition, the colour of the hands changes from almost black to electric blue in the light.

MOVEMENT

The Brunswick is powered by a Swiss made, manual winding ETA 7001 movement. This accurate movement was first designed in the 1970s, and its reliability has ensured its continuing popularity today. Each movement features blued screws and Côtes de Genève striping.

STRAP

Each Brunswick White is paired with a handmade Bristol Leather strap in Fears Blue. This premium strap uses calf leather that has been vegetable tanned in Britain’s oldest vegetable tannery, Bristol’s Thomas Ware & Sons. Its stainless steel pin buckle is subtly engraved with our ‘Fears’ logo. The Brunswick is designed to fit all of the straps in the Fears range, which you can easily fit yourself without tools.

INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED

Each watch Fears make carries a unique serial number. Engraved between the 20mm lugs at 12 o’clock, this number helps us identify your watch and its history.

BRITISH BOX

For decades Fears presented watches in a dark blue box with a cream-coloured lining. We are delighted to continue this tradition today.

The Brunswick White is presented in a bespoke wooden box, crafted in Britain from English Ash, which is stained Fears Blue. Lined in genuine cream suede, the watch sits proudly on a special cushion.

Don't take our word for it, check out our recent Google reviews:

"For as long as I'm alive, I will ALWAYS check Time&Tide before buying another watch. I'm going to have difficulty explaining how over-the-top and personable their customer service is through a mere Google review. You're going to have to feel it for yourself, and I have no doubt that you will..." Read the full review.

"Really enjoyed the visit to Time+Tide Watches Melbourne, clearly run by enthusiasts, appreciated the honest opinions, refreshing to chat to guys with appreciation for watches in general who aren’t trying to push a certain brand or meet quotas, different to the traditional visit to an AD, but certainly in a good way." Read the review.

"I'm a new customer and have had a great experience. I live outside of Australia and Time+Tide are the only retailers for DOXA in my region, Sean and his team have been nothing but accommodating in helping me purchase my watch and also facilitate a non standard pick up method. Really appreciate the help and time fellas, cheers. Highly recommended and will definitely be back for another DOXA in the future." Read the review.

"Great group people, that are very knowledgeable. The location itself is a little hidden and may be easily missed. The staff themselves were very friendly and honest about their opinion. It is definitely more relaxed and friendly then other watch AD. I can recommend stopping in there and having a discussion about watches if you’re passionate about them. Overall, very great experience and happy with my purchase." Read the review.

"Definitely had a great experience choosing a watch to buy. They were extremely knowledgeable and gave me plenty of options and suggestions that fit my needs. Definitely were not pushy and it looks like everyone there just has a passion for watches. Shout out Kieran!" Read the review.
