Wren

Nowadays, some of the most intriguing watch timepieces come from independent watchmakers. Among these brands is Wren, a New York-based company founded by watch enthusiast and reviewer Craig Karger, who is also a lawyer by trade. Eager to take his passion for watchmaking to the next level, he founded Wren, a brand that now offers a diverse lineup of timepieces designed in his native New York and built in Switzerland.

Wren

Refining the dive watch formula

Wren’s journey began with the Diver One collection, a lineup of watches boasting a noticeable wrist presence thanks to their 41mm stainless steel cases. Over time, the brand refined the concept and introduced the Diver 38, a slimmer, more compact alternative designed for those who prefer a smaller watch. Across the collection, the watches feature a dial layout typical of classic dive watches with large circular hour markers complemented by triangular indices at the cardinal points (on some models, replaced by a date window at 6 o’clock).

For its debut models, Wren chose to jump straight into one of watchmaking’s most beloved categories: the dive watch. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of vintage divers, the brand blends classic aesthetic cues with its own contemporary twist. With modern materials and solid build quality, Wren’s models transition effortlessly from underwater adventures to everyday life.

Wren HIGHLIGHTS

Dials that make a splash

Wren’s dive collection stands out through its intriguing dial colors, many of which feature an elegant fumé finish that adds character. The only exception is the Diver 38 Mad, which opts for a crisp white dial paired with matching hour markers. Wren also explores a variety of materials across its range, using ceramic or sapphire bezels on select references, and even offers a model with a titanium case and bracelet.

Swiss precision inside every Wren

While hailing from New York, the brand ensures that the most important component of its watches is Swiss-made. The Diver models run on trusted ETA or Selitta movements, housed either beneath a hydraulic press caseback or an exhibition caseback featuring a custom skeletonized Wren rotor. Each watch delivers a 200m rating of water resistance and is paired with a flat-link bracelet with micro adjustments, with rubber straps offered as an alternative.
