WHAT'S A NATO STRAP?
The "NATO Strap" originated from the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) in 1973. It was developed to fulfill the need for a water-resistant watch strap, as leather straps were commonly used at that time, unsuitable for military use with chronograph watches featuring fixed strap bars.
The MOD introduced a 20mm wide nylon strap, incorporating an additional flap underneath to securely fasten the watch in place.
One of the remarkable features of NATO straps is their ease of interchangeability and affordability, enabling you to switch them out as frequently as your underwear – for students, that could mean daily changes!
