Our Best Engagement Watches to Gift

Considering an engagement watch instead of a ring? You're sure to find a winner on our list of best engagement watches to gift.

1. Hamilton American Classic Boulton Small Seconds Quartz

A American Classic Boulton watch will always in style, which is why it can make a perfect gift for your fiancée. This timeless classic, originally from the '40s, has a gently curved almost-tonneau case, Roman numeral markers in black, and blued-steel hands, all enclosed by a railroad-style minute track. It runs on an awesome quartz movement for minimal maintenance and superior accuracy.

Various dial-and-strap combinations have made an appearance over the years, but none so classic and discreet as this white dial and black leather strap pairing shown here.

2. Baltic Prismic Green - Bracelet

Baltic has delivered yet another vintage hit with the Prismic, a 36mm cocktail watch with an Art Deco feel.

The beautiful textured dial of the Prismic takes centre stage. It's topped by a domed sapphire crystal and has a guilloché pattern surrounded by a brushed sector topped with polished indices. The guilloche shows up on the outside track as well. Sitting prettily at 6 o'clock is a sandblasted seconds sub-dial outlined by a brushed silver ring.

Peseux 7001, the Swiss mechanical movement driving the Prismic, is framed within an open caseback. The watch currently ships with a stylish black leather strap.

3. Furlan Marri Mechaquartz Castagna Ref. 1009-A

If you had a slim-profiled and refined daily wearer on your mind, gift wrap the Castagna from Furlan Marri. Don't let the accessible pricing give you the impression that this is not a quality pick. It absolutely is!

This 38mm quartz timepiece builds on the Havana Salmon, a dual-register mechanical chronograph that was one of Furlan Marri's phenomenally successful releases of the pandemic.

The Castagna reference makes some subtle and some not-so-subtle tweaks to the debut design. For starters, it swaps the salmon-brown tones for a grey-and-taupe combination, and replaces the Roman numerals at 12 and 6 with Breguet numerals.

The watch also has a finely printed respiration scale, an opaque decagonal caseback, and engraved pushers that are reminiscent of the ones from Patek Philippe's "Tasti Tondi" chronograph from the '40s.

4. NORQAIN Independence 40mm

Who says only a dressy watch can make an engagement gift? Not us. If your partner is the outdoorsy kind, they're sure to love this sporty piece from NORQAIN's Independence collection. It runs on the NN08, a high-quality COSC-certified calibre that promises an autonomy of 41 hours and can be admired through the sapphire-glass caseback.

The watch pairs a 40mm case with a green fumé dial. The handmade "scratched" finish of the dial serves as the backdrop for Super-LumiNova-treated indices and rhodium-plated hands. Don't miss the date window at 3 o'clock!

5. Mido Ocean Star 39mm

If a good-looking and capable desk diver is the kind of engagement watch that will appeal to your partner, say hello to the 39mm Ocean Star displayed here.

Its wave-patterned black dial framed by a gold unidirectional rotating bezel and a black aluminium bezel insert looks stunning. The white Super-LumiNova indices and hands go well with the dial, and the small date window at 3 o'clock blends neatly into the whole setup.

The ETA-based Caliber 72 movement powering this Ocean Star is hidden behind a gorgeous starfish-engraved caseback and brings a power reserve of 72 hours. 200m of water resistance keeps the watch protected during a swim.

6. Tissot PRX 35mm Powermatic 80 - Gold

Now this is what a "traditional" engagement watch would look like—sleek, golden, and modelling a vintage aesthetic. Of course, the mechanics are all modern, and include a 80-hour automatic movement with a Nivachron balance hairspring.

With a vintage 35mm case the PRX Powermatic 80 has a slim profile and is ideal for smaller wrists. It's an upgrade on the quartz PRX.

The champagne-coloured waffle dial paired with a gold-coated integrated stainless steel bracelet makes for a memorable look. A white date window at 3 o'clock reinforces the vintage design.

7. Nivada Grenchen F77 Blue With Date

Play it safe with this blue, time-only, sporty-dressy recreation of the iconic F77, which was Nivada Grenchen's foray into the sports watch arena in the '70s.

The modern F77 stays true to the original sizing of 37mm. It has a basket-weave dial with silver baton indices and a date widow situated at 3'clock. A SOPROD P024 movement is sandwiched between the dial and the opaque caseback with the Nivada logo.

You'll be glad to know that you have several variants to pick from some also including dial with unique inserts such as lapis lazuli.

Sidestep tradition with one of these stylish engagement watches. Feel free to drop by our Discovery Watch Studio to see the watches in person. It’s the best way to find out which one your partner will truly love.
